Community

Hove Junior School is a large 6 form entry community Junior School split across two sites within the city.  We currently have around 700  pupils on roll.  Both schools are set in  a busy urban area within 2 miles of each other and both are a short distance from the seafront.  The majority of our children transfer from West Hove Infant School but some do come from other local infant schools.

We have strong community ties with local churches,  charities and other organisations including PE Development.  We also have strong links with support agencies such as CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) and BILT (Behaviour Inclusion Learning Team).

We participate in a variety of local events, including the Brighton Festival Children’s Parade, the annual Christmas Schools’ Concert and Let’s Dance at the Dome in Brighton.

We have strong links with both Sussex and Brighton Universities, mentoring students and trainee teachers and supporting students to undertake research at the school.

We are part of a strong local network of schools to ensure all our children across the city access quality first teaching.
