Year 3 Summer Term

Roamin' Romans

In Year 3 this term, we are learning about the Roamin' Romans! We will begin by thinking about the experiences of two children, Tranio and Livia, during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius through our core text, "Escape from Pompeii". Later on in the term, we will be reading “Time Travel Twins: The Roman Invasion”, by Josh Lacey. During our Marvellous Middle, the children will design and make Roman shields to protect them in battle and will then become Roman soldiers for the afternoon, taking part in a number of training drills. Our history lessons will focus on the impact of the Roman invasion of Britain on the Celts.
