Autumn Term Stunning Start
Over the past few weeks Years 3 - 6 have been incredibly fortunate to have full day workshops with Portals to the Past. The experience has immersed the children in our topic Stone Age - Iron Age and has allowed them to explore and find answers to questions such as 'Who are we and where do we come from?'
The timeline of mankind and the important developments that make us who we are was explored in this fantastic and informative workshop. From being hunter gathers, to early farming communities, ancient technology and coming of the age of metal – the sequence of events that makes us who we are today.
The sessions consisted of group investigations where children explored numerous informative displays, artefacts and had hands-on experience of ancient technology and skills, interspersed with interactive discussions on the following sub-topics-: PALEOLITHIC AND MESOLITHIC PERIOD, NEOLITHIC, BRONZE AGE, IRON AGE.
