Year 4 Summer Term

Walk like an Egyptian

During our summer topic we will be travelling back to the Ancient Egyptian civilization. Our key texts for this term are Meet the... Ancient Egyptians (a non-fiction text that explores the basics of Ancient Egypt) and Secrets of a Sun King (a thrilling tale that follows a group of children trying to solve a mystery and break a pharaoh's curse). Throughout this topic, we will learn about the history of the three kingdoms of Ancient Egypt, as well as famous figures such as Tutankhamun. We will also be getting very hands-on, making our own papyrus, creating Canopic jars, and even mummifying an orange!
