"There is strong evidence of good systemic leadership and an aspirational culture, supporting strong outcomes for pupils and in raising standards for disadvantaged and SEND pupils" - Ofsted, February 2020

Holland Road - School Council

Following successful elections at the beginning of the Autumn term, our councillors have been meeting regularly to discuss a wide variety of issues and present class ideas to senior leaders.

We discussed the use of the playground and how we could develop this to ensure that everybody can find somebody to play with or something to do.  We also discussed how the friendship bench could be 'jazzed up' and that there should be more games and activities taking place at lunchtimes.  There are now storage units containing a range of games and books on the main playground.

We then created a questionnaire regarding the school dinner menu.  Our classes fed back that they would like more vegan or vegetarian options and more salad and fruit available.  We are then going to pass on our findings to the catering company that we use in school.

During the Spring term, we are going to be exploring spelling across the school and helping to take part in a tree planting ceremony, following the Eco-Team's successful application to the Woodland Trust for 60 free saplings! These are going to be planted with the help of the PTA  to help promote local wildlife in the school grounds.
